Keep an eye on the Career Center calendar for upcoming scholarship deadlines, and use the resources linked below to find scholarships that match you and your college plans.

Institutional Scholarships
Universities and colleges offer scholarships students can apply to. These are different than scholarships offered through the admission process and each institution's scholarship application window varies. Use the link to explore information on scholarships offered through the particular institution of interest. Note, most applications will require the student to be admitted to their institution prior to applying. 

OSAC Scholarships
OSAC administers over 600 scholarships, with varying eligibility criteria, with a single, free application. The application opens November 1 and is due April 1 for 2024 year, with early bird incentives for submitting an error-free application by February 15. A list of eligible scholarships for students within Josephine County can be found here.

RCC Foundation Scholarships
The RCC Foundation offers over 100 scholarship opportunities annually to applicants who meet various criteria. If you plan to attend RCC and have at least a 2.5 GPA, visit the RCC Foundation website to apply. The application deadline is June 1.

Ford Scholars and Renaissance Scholars
These two programs offer generous college scholarships for high-achieving Oregon students with financial need. Click the name of the program above to learn more about the award amounts and selection criteria.

Employer Scholarships
Some employers offer scholarships for employees and/or their children, especially financial institutions, large retail stores, and fast food chains. If you have a job, check with your supervisor or search your company's website for information. Also check with your parents to see if their employers have any scholarship opportunities for which you could apply.

Tips for Scholarship Applications

Keep track of all your high school activities
This information is critical for scholarship, college, and job applications, and you will want to have it recorded in one, easy-to-access place. Use this Activities Chart to record all your details.

Volunteer in your community
Scholarship donors like to see students who go out of their way to help others. They recognize students who go to school, work, and serve their communities know how to organize their time. These students have a higher success rate than most. Being involved in our Interact and Key Clubs here at GPHS will get you some great community service hours. Craft your essays with each scholarship in mind
Although you may encounter similar writing prompts across various college and scholarship applications, avoid submitting the exact same essay to every application. Spend some time editing your essay as needed so that it addresses the specifics of the scholarship you are applying for.
