This artifact comes from a moment in my clinical instructors classroom when me and my CI reviewed test results and adjusted the teaching approach and retaught certain standards necessary.

My clinical instructor and I recently conducted a thorough review of the test results from a recent assessment administered to the students. Upon analyzing the data, we identified specific areas where students demonstrated challenges and struggled to meet the expected standards. Utilizing the data, we pinpointed specific standards and learning objectives that required additional support. We discussed and determined which standards needed to be retaught based on the assessment findings. After identifying the standards requiring additional instruction, we also recognized the need to adjust our questioning techniques to better support student learning. We brainstormed innovative ways to frame questions that would facilitate deeper understanding and engagement among the students. This involved creating questions that were more scaffolded, but not providing hints or clues to guide students toward the correct answers, and incorporating a variety of question formats to cater to different learning styles. By working collaboratively Mrs. Weir and I were able to analyze the test results, identify areas for improvement, and adjust our instructional approach to better meet the needs of our students. This experience underscored the importance of data-driven decision-making and the value of collaboration in enhancing student learning outcomes.
CAEP Standard 4: Supporting Each Child’s Learning Using Effective Instruction.
Candidates make informed decisions about instruction guided by knowledge of children and assessment of children’s learning that result in the use of a variety of effective instructional practices that employ print, and digital appropriate resources. Instruction is delivered using a cohesive sequence of lessons and employing effective instructional practices. Candidates use explicit instruction and effective feedback as appropriate, and use whole class discussions to support and enhance children’s learning. Candidates use flexible grouping arrangements, including small group and individual instruction to support effective instruction and improved learning for every child.
