The Connect Centre is the school-base for students who are on the Connect Centre caseload. The Connect Centre environment is designed to be a place where students who find it difficult to be in a classroom setting are able to be productive.
The Connect Centre teacher works with students to develop social skills, life skills, executive functioning, motivation, self-regulation, etc. The Connect Centre teacher also supports and works with students academically in their regular courses.
The school administration, school counsellor, Connect Centre teacher and members of the Teaching Support Team regularly assess students' suitability and eligibility for the Connect Centre program at Drumlin Heights Consolidated School.
Students are considered through a referral process for Connect Centre Caseload during Teaching Support Team meetings each month.
