The RCMP School Liaison Program is a service that provides a police resource for students, staff and parents. The program covers both elementary, junior and high schools, with the school safety resource officer working directly with Drumlin Heights and general duty police officers covering the school area. The school safety resource officer is responsible for delivering safety and crime prevention lessons to students; being a resource to students, staff, parents; enhancing the safety and security of the schools; investigating offences relating to the schools; and supporting crime prevention and community relations to meet the diverse needs of the residents in the school community.
The school counsellor regularly works with the RCMP School Safety Resource Officer to provide classroom instruction and to obtain advice on a wide variety of issues at the elementary to Grade 12 level.
