This last month has seen many changes taking place for students, parents and teachers at Global Jaya School. With our return to campus, and the start of blended learning, Year 2 has been adjusting to new routines and expectations, and learning how to keep each other safe.
Here’s how we have settled into our new way of learning and interacting during this time.
Practicing physical distancing on our first day of school.
We got to see each other face-to-face for the very first time! Wearing our masks at all times is really important.
We went for a campus tour to remind ourselves what school looks like! For some of us, it was the first time we had ever been on campus. We were most excited to see the pool and field!
At the start of every week, each of us submits our negative antigen tests. We also sanitise our hands before entering the classroom. This is how we keep each other safe!
Some of us are on campus while some of us are at home. This means teachers and students need to learn new ways of using technology to communicate and connect with each other. Morning Meetings are a great way for us to check in and develop our friendships with others.
Being back at school is perfectly timed with our new unit on Health and Wellbeing. Together, we played Healthy Choices Bingo and reviewed some important vocabulary.
To keep each other safe we sit at our own tables that are distanced from others. We got to use our personal set of real base ten blocks while working on our Math task.
Our mental health and wellbeing is really important! Stretching and listening to music has been a great way for us to refocus our minds and relax while also staying physically distanced.
Snack time! This is a chance for us to rest and refuel. We sit physically distanced from others, and enjoy our yummy snacks from home. When we are finished eating, we put our masks back on and chat to our friends.
