Hello Primary Parents,
We would like to thank you for your support and understanding during this transition to Blended Learning. It has been so lovely to hear student voices in the hallway and seeing their learning in the classroom and on gmeet. Behind those properly worn masks, we can “see” lots of smiles.
We need to thank our hard-working, dedicated teachers for all they do with maintaining high levels of teaching and learning in this new environment. Kudos to ALL our Primary Teachers, Specialists, Assistant Teachers and Junior Teachers!
We would like to share some essential information with you as we head into our term break from 11 October to 15 October.
● Mid-Semester MSC: We will have our mid-semester MSC on 7 & 8 October (Thursday and Friday). We will not have face-to-face classes as well as asynchronous or synchronous lessons on these days. It is a non-school day for all students.
● Term Break: We will have our well-deserved term break from 11 October to 15 October. Please note these important dates upon our return from break:
○ 18 October- Full Faculty Professional Development Day. No classes for students, on or off campus.
○ 19 October- Students return to school. Face to face learning for the ODD student group. EVEN student group Synchronous Home Learning.
○ 20 October- Holiday: Prophet’s Birthday
○ 21 & 22 October- Back to our regular modified schedule. Face to face learning for the ODD student group and Synchronous Home Learning for EVEN student group.
● School Uniforms: To support parents and students with the purchase of school uniforms, we created a transition period until the end of the October break. Therefore, upon returning from the October break, we anticipate seeing all our students in their GJS Batik school uniform and black footwear. We appreciate your support with this timeline. Primary Parent Handbook refer to pages 24-25 regarding GJS school uniforms.
● Swab Antigen Results: Please ensure your child comes to school with a negative swab antigen test for each week they are on campus.
As stated in our communication last week and per our RtCP, “GJS Students must present negative swab antigen test certificates obtained no more than 2 x 24 hours prior to each of their on-campus weeks of Blended Learning.”
Thank you again for your ongoing support and understanding as we move forward with Blended Learning. We could not do this without you! Stay safe and healthy.
Warm Regards
Ibu Elena
