Year 3

Blended Learning

After a long yet highly successful Home Based Learning program, we were finally allowed to return to school. We were now able to move to a Blended Learning environment. Everyone involved was cautious but excited for this new change. Students that chose to return to school could now come to school in small groups with clear safety protocols in place. Students who chose or were unable to return to school continued a modified Blended Learning schedule. Fortunately, everyone embraced this new situation with positivity and enthusiasm.

Assembly

Year 3 had its first assembly of Term 1. The assembly gave us the chance to discover some of our classmates' hidden talents. Several students were true risk-takers and performed for their classmates. All of year 3 demonstrated their strong audience skills by listening and appreciating the performance of all.

The assembly also allowed us to recognize several students as Global Award winners. These students showed themselves to be clear examples of the Learner Profiles of Caring, Open-minded, and Communicators. All of the recipients of these awards were recognized by all members of the GJS learning community.

Finally, this assembly allowed us to say goodbye to a leaving student. We were all able to say our goodbyes and remind everyone that is leaving that they will always be remembered and valued for their contribution to our school.

MSC

We ended the term by celebrating the accomplishments of the year three students with our MSC's. Teachers, students, and parents were able to meet to discuss their areas of success and things they would like to improve upon next term. From these open conversations, teachers were better able to meet the learning needs of all types of students. Parents were allowed to reflect on their child's learning progress.

After the MSC's were finished, everyone got to go on a much-needed relaxing holiday. Holiday's allow us to recover and return to school with a positive attitude and ready to learn.
