The Reception class participated in our blended-learning transition week successfully thanks to supporting parents and school staff.
During our blended learning transition week, we practiced following the school RtCP and health protocols; and kept practicing to take care of ourselves and others’ safety at school. With great enthusiasm, we slowly built connections with our new learning environment and school community members around us. Our teachers helped us adapt to the classroom routines, and the great thing is, we are now more independent at school and can remind each other about doing the right thing!
During the outdoor extended transition time, we had the opportunity to enjoy our snack and take in the fresh air outside while chatting with our friends. We develop our social skills more when we spend time together at school. We also develop our motor skills while walking around our little playground after our socially-distanced snack. We love our playground and hope that one day we can do more activities together there.
At the end of Term 1, we showed everyone how we organized ourselves when preparing and performing for our RECEPTION GOT TALENT Assembly. We were risk-takers and great communicators when sharing our talents with our friends, teachers, and parents. We enjoyed the various skills that our friends showed us, and we are so proud of ourselves. The teachers also presented the Term 1 Class and Global Awards to us. We did a tremendous job sharing our thinking and reflecting on our learning in our first unit!
The Reception class has started our 2nd UOI about who people are in relation to their surroundings.
To start this unit, we created our silhouette collaged with the things that represent us. We integrated Visual Art, Science, and Social Studies into this activity. We were reflective and creative during this activity.
