We are so delighted to inform you that book week will be launched on November 1. It will run from 1-5 November 2021. The theme of Book Week this year is Old Worlds, New Worlds, and Other Worlds. We know currently that we are still experiencing a pandemic situation, however, we hope that our book week event still gives our students memorable and meaningful experiences that can develop their interest in literacy.
During book week, we will invite three guest speakers. They are Puppetaria, Richard Sobol, and the twin sisters Maria and Elizabeth Rahajeng. Our first guest speaker is Puppeteria. Puppeteria is an Indonesian puppeteer community. Their activities are providing children’s television programmes such as Bipbop, Koki Chiko, Kido, Roro, etc, storytelling, dubber, animation and also providing workshops for children and adults (making puppets and puppeteering). Secondly, we have Richard Sobol. He is the traveling photographer that is constantly circling the globe looking for stories related to wildlife, international cultures, and conservation of the environment. He is the author of several books exploring whales, elephants, mountain gorillas, African wildlife,
environmental conservation, the magic of silkworms, how rice is grown, Angkor Wat, the workings of a building construction site, and life in an African community. Lastly, we have the twin sisters Maria and Elizabeth Rahajeng. Both are influencers, digital content creators, and authors of their book ”Becoming Unstoppable”. Maria got her start when she was crowned Miss Indonesia 2014 while Elizabeth began her career in fashion retail before transitioning into broadcasting and digital media. Maria and Elizabeth both have a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Journalism from Pelita Harapan University.
In addition, we also have some competitions that students can participate in that some of them have started prior to the beginning of the book week. Below are the details of the book week programme that can be used as your reference.
