On October 6th, Year 2 students participated in dress-up day. This event was held in order to express their understanding about the unit of inquiry Who We Are. Having a special assembly, students wore special costumes to represent their happiness. They look gorgeous and confident in sharing their feelings and stories regarding their favourite attire.
Year 2 students were very grateful to have Ibu Gracia Tobing (Emma’s mom) as our online guest speaker. She is a psychologist. Do you know what a psychologist does? Yes, they help other people through counselling and therapy, create development programs for individuals or communities, conduct psychological tests, and many more things.
Becoming a psychologist takes a lot of effort. They need to do some research before helping other people. They will observe, interview, do studies, prepare tests and do social experiments. Wow….
There are some simple things that we can do if we think that we need some support. We can try art therapy, sand play therapy, and some others. Remember that a healthy body plus a healthy mind results in a happy human. Start your day with a smile.
Have you ever felt that it is not your day? It seems that there are a lot of things to do. Many tasks and homework, and you feel so tired to learn online? Yes, everyone has that experience. But…. Year 2 students have learned to deal with their hard day by creating some calm-down strategies.
After exploring and discussing some strategies to overcome stress and frustration, students started to create a calm-down caterpillar. They cut and pasted some origami paper. They picked their favourite strategies and wrote them down on the paper.
Now, we will apply these strategies whenever we need to. It works well. Give it a try!
