As we enter the 4th week of blended learning, so far everything goes smoothly and the kids are so eager to enter this new phase of face to face learning with strict and proper health protocols. As our beloved kids enjoying the new normal way of schooling, with masks on, sanitizing their hands, maintaining the 1.5 M distance and of course with less friends in the classrooms, somehow they are just loving it. They come home telling stories of how tall their friends are, how their friends are still the same, the difference is just how much everyone has grown! Fun, exciting moment for the children to finally able to meet their friends and to reconnect their youthful energy. It’s a new and fresh beginning for everyone, not only the children but also to the whole faculty members. Even for the new PTA have begun to work this term with surprisingly new programs.
PTA is now consist of 22 new parents who submits their application and wants to contribute their knowledge and skills for the school. Many professional comes from various backgrounds are willing to participate in PTA, ranging from Nuclear Engineers to Diplomat, Sportsman to PR professionals, Fine Artist to Environment Sustainability expert and so on. These amazing parents are part of us because they have more time to spend for the family due to Work From Home. So , yes, i guess it’s a blessing in disguise from this pandemic. There is always silver lining from every experience, and try to see things with a positive mind.
PTA has been around for 25 years, and now, as the millennials start taking over the world, the Gen Z has starting to rise, PTA also need a little makeover to adapt and be relevant to the current generation. We have to continue the legacy and be more than just the bridge of communication, but to become the bridge of voice, vision and inspiration. This is the legacy that all of us as parents should left for the children and for the future children of GJS.
The new PTA has more structure in the organization and leadership. It effected to how the communication flows and also having the right parent for the most suitable section. We wish that from here on, as the situation getting better, we can have programs and events held offline. Like the Family Fun Day and TSAN, all with new fresh face and more creative content. So far what we can do is to promote GJS through a series of IG Live, we recently invited the Head of GJS, Dr Attila Dewanti SpA(k), Dr Kianti Raisa SpM(k) and GJS Dean of Students ibu Vicki Gardner. There will still more to come with informative sessions to support Global Jaya School.
Thank you for all the parents for your amazing participation, can’t wait for the coming event “Global Connect Week” in December 2021! It’s gonna be amazing!
