Taiwan, Here we come.
This academic year,13 students who are members of the Model United Nations (MUN) will have the enviable experience of travelling to Taiwan to join other students in the Harvard Model Congress Asia ( HMCA).
Organized by Harvard College Model Congress Asia, a student organization at Harvard University, this congress brings together thousands of high school students from different countries and schools to foster collaboration, international mindedness, and the spirit of unity while tackling issues of both local and international magnitudes. Students engage with these simulated global issues and become change-makers to offer possible solutions.
This experience aligns with the IB mission of fostering International mindedness. It encapsulates what learning means at Global Jaya School: “Learning is the lasting growth, change, and development of knowledge, skills, understanding, and behaviour.” Through the conference, students begin to connect academics with the world around them and, most importantly, start to get involved and understand their role in changing the world for the better.
Students will leave Jakarta for Taipei, Taiwan, on January 7, 2025, and return on January 10, 2025. As our first international trip for the year, we are hopeful for an excellent and exciting experience, a life-changing experience.
For those interested in international relations and governance, rights, and freedom, This is the perfect ASA FOR YOU. Join us as we strive to build better bridges between nations.
Our next stop? Yale Model United Nations - Singapore.
