The Year 2 Festival Budaya is the culminating activity of the Pancasila project for Year 2. In this project, students have been learning about cultural diversity in Indonesia, showcasing their knowledge, and expressing pride in their respective cultures of origin.
Through this festival, students will:

Foster a sense of love and pride for local culture.
This festival is the culmination of a learning journey that encourages students to appreciate and preserve Indonesian culture, in line with the values of Pancasila.
Swimming is not just a fun activity; it's also an essential life skill that enhances both safety and well-being. At around 7 to 8 years old, Year 2 students are at an ideal age to begin swimming lessons. In this article, we’ll delve into the significance, advantages, and structure of swimming lessons for Year 2 students.
The Importance of Swimming Lessons:
Safety Awareness: One of the primary reasons for teaching children to swim is safety. Learning to swim reduces the risk of drowning and helps children understand water safety rules.
Physical Development: Swimming is an excellent full-body workout that enhances physical fitness. It builds strength, flexibility, and endurance while promoting healthy growth and development.
Social Skills: Swimming lessons often take place in groups, allowing children to interact with their peers. This experience helps them develop teamwork, communication, and social skills.
Festival Budaya represents the pinnacle of the Pancasila project-based learning initiative for Year 2 students. This event provided an opportunity for students to explore and understand the rich cultural diversity of Indonesia, while also allowing them to express their knowledge and pride in their individual cultural heritage.
This activity is also integrated with our Unit of Inquiry Who We Are, which culminated in a summative project. In this unit, students demonstrated their understanding of inclusivity by celebrating the diverse cultural backgrounds of their peers.
On Friday, November 29th, Year 2 students presented their learning through a performance and presentation for the primary community and their parents. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Year 2 parents for their unwavering support of our educational endeavors.
