On May 17, we joined the nation in celebrating National Book Day (Hari Buku Nasional)—a special day dedicated to promoting reading and recognizing the vital role books play in education and lifelong learning. This annual observance was first initiated in 2002 by former Minister of Education Abdul Malik Fadjar, and the date was chosen to commemorate the founding of the National Library of Indonesia on May 17, 1980.
To mark the occasion, we organized online book-themed quizzes for students from Year 1 to Year 9. The activity was designed to be fun and engaging, encouraging students to reflect on their reading experiences while challenging their knowledge in a light-hearted way.
We were thrilled with the enthusiastic participation across all year levels. Students enjoyed the quizzes, and many demonstrated a deep love and curiosity for reading. As a token of appreciation, small prizes were given out to celebrate their efforts and engagement.
A big thank you to all the teachers who supported this initiative by sharing the quizzes and encouraging students to join in, and to all the students who participated with such energy and enthusiasm.
Let’s keep the spirit of reading alive—not just on National Book Day, but every day!
As we approach the end of the school year, we kindly remind all students and staff to return any borrowed library books and resources. Returning items on time helps us prepare and refresh our collection for the upcoming academic year.
Thank you for making the library a meaningful part of your learning journey this year. We look forward to seeing you again next school year!
Wishing you a restful holiday and happy reading!
