On UOI 4, Year 4 was focusing on learning about technology, specifically about sounds. To demonstrate this, we decided to have an experiment for every student. They researched different types of experiments about how sounds are being produced and about how sounds travel. They put a lot of effort into doing their experiments.
Each experiment was different, but they had the same knowledge they wanted to convey: How Sounds can be Produced. For example, one of the Year 4 students experimented with cups and different amounts to see how each cup would sound. Another used a pencil/chopstick to tap the table to hear a sound/vibration from the table.
We experimented during a science lesson; after we were done, we shared our experiments and completed our scientific method worksheet. We shared our experiments to give our friends examples about what type of experiments and how to do them.
Question: Will I hear the vibration from the table?
Research: I watched the video from Pak Joni
Hypothesis: I predicted that I will hear the vibration
Materials and tools:Pencil and a table
Experiment: During the experiment, I heard the vibration
Analysis: I recorded my experiment with my phone, and watched the video.
Conclusion: My prediction was correct. I could hear the vibration.

On Thursday, 4th March 2021, from 9:35 to 11:15, Year 4 had 4 Guest Speakers; they were parents. They talked about different cultures. Kinda’s Mom talked about Sundanese culture, Zakki’s Mom talked about Padang culture, Olvia’s dad talked about the Australian culture and history, and Milany’s Mom talked about the Balinese culture. Year 4 was glad to have them as guest speakers because they learned more about different cultures from different tribes/places and gathered more information. We learned about different types of dances, food, clothing, language, landmarks, musical instruments, and holidays from the presentations. Let’s take an example from the Padang culture. A popular food from there is the Rendang. Popular dances include Tari piring (plate dance).
