Inspired by Brandon Stanton's "Humans of New York," Humans of Glasgow is a new segment for Scottie Channel that aims to connect our student body and community on a deeper level. Students involved in Humans of Glasgow will develop key skills in interviewing, photography, storytelling, and community engagement. They'll learn how to ask thoughtful questions, capture compelling images, and craft narratives that resonate with readers. Ultimately, Humans of Glasgow seeks to foster empathy, understanding, and a stronger sense of belonging within our school and the wider Glasgow community.

"My first teaching role was at South Green Elementary. I was fortunate to serve as a teacher at South Green Elementary for 18 years. Now, as principal, I continue to be committed to helping make South Green Elementary a place where students are successful, enjoy coming to school, and feel supported along the way. I always enjoyed being a teacher and felt that I could make a positive impact on my students, but being a principal allows me to help many more students and support teachers and families in a way that I feel like I have a bigger impact. I feel very blessed to get to work with such great individuals everyday." - Josh Turner
“I am blessed to have the opportunity to do all the things I love - event planning, teaching, creating hands on learning experiences, theme design, and so much more, all while showing kids & students about how much Jesus loves them!” -Johanna Mackie

"I think that reading is an amazing skill. And I think it can be hard for people who didn't grow up loving to read to get into reading, but I think advice for getting into reading would be to find what you like to read, don't worry about what you think you should be reading." - Lydia Brooks

"I'm very excited for the season! We had a great match at Hart county. I'm very proud of all of my players. They showed a lot of grit and determination and a lot of good effort. I am super excited we have 9 guys and about 30 girls, so we are definitely excited to see some interest and growth in player development. Kenny and I enjoy being around these students and their families!” - Autumn Hardin
“I unexpectedly ending up leading the student ministry at my church and it has been a real blessing. This generation has a deep love for God, love for people, and a commitment to serving both. You don’t have to wait until you’re an adult to make a difference for God’s Kingdom. Start now and just watch what God will do through you!” - David Mackie
“Well there are two things I love talking about history and I really enjoy interacting with students. Those are the two things that made teaching the most enjoyable. Oh, if you're doing something you love and they pay you to do it, why stop?” - Jesse Brown
“To focus what all you have today for what you have left is lost forever. Persistence is a twin sister to excellence, and never, ever, give up.” - Allen Jones

"Social media is not a real place. People will say things they don’t mean, and act ways they wouldn’t act in person. Sometimes you will do the same thing. So before you send a tweet, text, IG message, whatever it may be, think about if you would say it in person or not. You’ll hold off on a lot of issues that way. Also, your problems aren’t as big you think they are. There are moments in my life when I thought my world was ending and I would never make it through it. But today, I don’t even think about those moments anymore." - Cord Glass
"To reach your full potential, surround yourself with a supportive network, lead by example, and focus on the present. Embody humility, gratitude, and help others in need whenever possible. The more you give, the more you get."- Dylan Poore

"Learn discipline and respect with discipline you will be more organized, you will be more conscious and with respect the way you interact with people. You will benefit from that no matter if you are still in college or trade or working in a business environment. Those two things would be very important to learn at a very young age." - Bobby Martin
