Renee Schuler is a Science teacher at Glasgow High School. Renee has been teaching for 12 years not always at Glasgow High School though she used to teach at Valley High School in Louisville, Kentucky for 5 years. Renee has always wanted to be a teacher. Renee said she has always played teacher even when she was little. She also always enjoyed her teachers and has always enjoyed school; besides Middle School as she says “those are the dark times.”
Renee is from Louisville, Kentucky but however her parents did not stay together for a long time so her father moved down to Glasgow, Kentucky so she spent every other weekend down in Glasgow with her father. Renee moved to Glasgow 7 years ago and has been here full time since with her daughter and husband. Since moving back to Glasgow Renee has had 2 other children. Renee Schuller went to Glasgow Christian Academy for high school. Renee also went to Highsville for various times from kindergarten through second grade.
One of her favorite childhood memories was when she would go on family trips with her dad’s friends and their kids, who she considered to be her cousins. One of those trips was a camping trip that seemed to keep going wrong, they were setting up tents and were met with a horrible storm that flooded their tents.
Renee wants her students to know that she really cares about them and wants to really connect with them. She Says “I'm not talking to take up time or because I don’t have a plan. Like it’s when I am in front of students and we are engaged in conversation, like all I want them to take away is being better humans, being more aware of their world and kind of our place in it.”
