Once a Candidate is enrolled in GGUSD's Induction program, GGUSD commits itself to offer a state accredited program, meeting the adopted standards, until the Candidate:
- completes the program;
- withdraws from the program;
- is removed from the program based on established criteria; or
- is admitted to another approved program to complete the requirements.
Program completion is not guaranteed in 2 years as recommendations for a Clear Credential cannot be made for Candidates not meeting program standards and requirements. GGUSD Induction utilizes a multi-tiered process of checks to ensure ongoing Candidate progress and success.
Program Completion
The Induction program regularly assesses Candidate progress towards mastery of the CSTPs to support the recommendation for a Clear Credential. The criteria for program completion is outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Induction Orientation Module, and the Candidate's ILP page. The documentation of progress reflects the learning and growth towards goals indicated within the ILP and evidence of the successful completion of the activities outlined. Prior to making a recommendation for a Clear Credential, the Induction program verifies that the Candidate has satisfactorily completed all program activities and requirements. The program's verification is based on a review of observed and documented evidence, collaboratively assembled by the Candidate, the Mentor and/or other colleagues, according to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The Induction program’s recommendation verification process includes a defensible process of reviewing documentation, a written appeal process for Candidates, and a procedure for Candidates to repeat portions of the program, as needed.
Accessing Your Documents: Candidates have access to their Induction documents, through Google Drive, for the duration of their employment with the district. Candidates are strongly encouraged to make and keep copies of all Induction documents, including support logs, evidence, reflection videos, etc. in their own Drive or on their personal computer for a minimum of 5 years after program completion. After documents have been submitted for approval, under no circumstances is a Candidate or Mentor permitted to remove, move, edit, or in any way alter any (including their own) Induction documents in the GGUSD Induction Google Drive.
Receiving Your Transcripts: After verified completion of each year of Induction, Candidates may receive transcripts which include monthly support minutes and verification that program standards have been met. A copy of transcripts can be requested at any time, for up to 5 years after program completion, from the Office of Personnel Services.
An Extensive Support Plan developed for a Candidate with Mentor and PS support may include a timeline form the Candidate to repeat or extend portions of the program as needed. Continued failure to meet program requirements may result in exit from the program. Please see the protocol below.
Once withdrawal or removal from the program is approved, GGUSD Induction is released from all obligations to provide Induction support, program completion, or pathway to a Clear Credential. Upon request, the Candidate can receive transcripts for any portion of the program completed at the time of departure.
