At several points in each year of Induction, both formal and informal Candidate progress checks are completed to ensure Candidates are consistently meeting program requirements. Induction TOSAs regularly monitor activity within their assigned Cohorts. The Induction Department hosts Cohort Meetings and individual check-ins for Candidates to receive information, guidance, feedback, and resources beyond the feedback they receive in weekly meetings from their Mentor. Mentors attend several Mentor Meetings and complete regular Mentor Modules both which provide Mentors with information, guidance, and expectations in this area. Additionally, Mentors engage in individual check-ins twice a year with their Induction TOSA during which they collaboratively review and discuss Candidate progress and make a plan for Mentor next steps. Mentors are encouraged to consistently leave digital feedback directly on the Candidate’s ILP and are required to leave written feedback directly on the ILP at 4 different points throughout the year. Internally, the Department schedules informal progress checks to ensure ongoing monitoring. Mentors and/or the Induction Department use the ILP Guide to complete these formal and informal checks to ensure consistency in expectations.
If needed, Candidates are offered opportunities for revisions or remediation and if expected progress is not being made, a Request for Support can be submitted by the Candidate, Mentor, or TOSA. All Requests for Support are reviewed by the Program Supervisor who then coordinates additional support and resources.
If progress continues to fall below expectations, an Extensive Support Plan can be implemented and, if needed, a Program Extension.
