Induction is the second tier of California’s two-tiered credentialing system for all new teachers with a preliminary credential employed by our district. The Induction Program is designed to support Candidate development and growth in the field of education by building on the knowledge and skills gained during the Preliminary Preparation program. It offers comprehensive support through a robust mentorship system, guiding each candidate towards mastery of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP). This non-evaluative program is focused on developing individualized growth plans and providing extensive support and mentorship in the first and second years of teaching.
GGUSD Teacher Induction ensures all new teachers employed by the district receive intensive individualized support and assistance during their first 2 years on the job.
Mentors model and encourage ongoing self-assessment and reflection for continuous improvement in the practice of teaching.
Meeting the academic and personal needs of our diverse student population is supported through inquiry, collaboration, and professional development
The goal of GGUSD’s Induction Program is to prepare all new teachers with a preliminary credential for career-long success through motivation and development of skills needed to meet high professional expectations and make informed decisions regarding their own growth and self-reflective practices.
