The GGUSD Induction program offers online and in-person orientation information. Orientation information consists of policies, procedures, timelines, and expectations for both Candidates and Mentors. It is our goal to ensure all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities and have the resources necessary for success right from the beginning.
We understand that the beginning of a teaching career is a time of excitement but it can also be overwhelming, especially as the year progresses. It is important that Candidates and Mentors engage with support systems and materials provided and sincerely consider "tips and tricks" for success. Remember, Induction is designed to be a new teacher's main source of support in the work that is already happening in the classroom - it should not feel like a chore and should certainly not be inapplicable to your teaching practices or students. Procrastinating or dismissing Induction can lead to greater feelings of frustration or quicker burnout.
