Young historian award
Researching, writing and presenting ideas about a historical theme or period is one of the best parts about studying history. We want young school and college aged students to get the bug for writing about history in an incisive, interesting and critical way.
There are lots of different categories you can enter. Just pick the one that sounds interesting to you!

Poetry competition
The East Riding Festival of Words poetry competition is now open for entries. This year's theme is 'My companion, my best friend'. Entries will be judged by a panel of published Yorkshire poets, led by James Nash. Poems are submitted anonymously, so each entry is judged on its own merits. Winners will be invited to read their poems at a special event.
