The GHD program is a two-year, full-time program. The curriculum requires 48 credits, at the 5000 level and above. Please see the Course Registration tab for more details.
Of the 48 credits, 27 credits (nine courses) are for core courses and 21 credits are for elective courses. At least 9 credits should be in a student’s identified specialization. If a student is enrolled in the Social Enterprise and Innovation Fellows Program or a certificate offered through another program for their specialization, this may require a significant number of the 21 elective credits (15-18 credits).
In Fall 2021, the GHD Program introduced the 1.5-credit required GHDP 5014 Ethical Leadership in Development course, which will span the first seven weeks of Fall Semester. GHDP 5098 Management Analysis & Practice I will now meet for the second seven weeks of the semester.
As of Fall 2023, GHD is a STEM-Certified Program! As such, students must take three (3) credits worth of courses from this list - or petition to include another class not yet on the list!
Note that the Two-Year Plan above does not include any language classes that students take.
