Art Metal introduces students to the more creative side of metalworking. We will learn about design and make those designs into reality with blacksmithing, welding, jewelry making, casting and fabrication.

Students will learn techniques for adjusting plans and drawings, using a variety of tools and equipment, including stationary power equipment and hand tools to develop woodworking techniques as well as the importance of woodwork in historical and cultural contexts, locally and throughout Canada. The course will also look at the uses and creation of plans and drawings to construct a product. Course work will allow for project individualization and creativity. Basic wood costs are included.

This course is an extension of Metalwork 9 and extends the skills and processes learnt in Metalwork 9, with more of an emphasis on design.

This course is an extension of Power Technology 9 where students work on more elaborate projects that involve more automotive applications. This course is an asset for students who wish to take the senior mechanics courses or who are considering mechanics as a Trade.

Youth Explore Trades Skills is a course intended to allow students to explore industry trades training and ideally enroll in future SD73 Trades Samplers and/or Youth TRAIN in Trades up at TRU. Youth Explore Trades Skills is intended to assist students in experiencing different trades training programs offered locally by the district and post secondary, while assisting in a smooth trades skills transition to either the workplace or an appropriate post-secondary program.
The course consists of 4 modules: Safety, Residential Construction, Electrical and Plumbing (4 Credit Course)
