Apple Beats Samsung in Fourth Quarter of 2019

Redacted

There is an age old debate between iOS and Android operating systems, more specifically between the two leading companies, Apple and Samsung, respectively. Each has their own list of pros and cons for buyers to consider before committing to the newest generation of smartphones, but for the fourth quarter of sales in the smartphone industry, for the first time in two years Apple out-sold Samsung. These statistics strictly compare the iPhone series from Apple and the Galaxy series from Samsung. Keep in mind this also excludes other phone companies that may have outsold both in certain regions of the world.

With the fourth quarter rapping up, Apple pulled a final sale of 72.9 million phones sold whereas Samsung pushed out a close second of 70 million. These numbers also vary slightly depending on where the statistics come from, but no matter which figures you look at Apple is still in the lead. Many speculations believe that this is because the iPhone 11 has many features that reminded former iOS users to revert back to their old ways, tossing their Androids aside. Alternatively it could be because the price of the new iPhone has dropped significantly from their last generation sibling. Regardless of the reason, Android users, more to the point, Samsung users, do not seem to care very much. As a matter of fact, Apple users are not bragging as much as would be expected considering the two’s battle together.

Could it be that the two refuse to use this argument because they are each so consumed in defending their own choice that they have become in a sense blind to the facts? Regardless of the answer Apple may not live up to this hype very long. With 5G technology, replacing 4G networks, on the way many experts believe that Samsung will be on the leading edge of this, ready to push out a new line of Galaxy phones ready to handle the next step in the smartphone industry. Whichever way this feud heads in the coming years, Apple has certainly outdone themselves this year, with an 8% profit increase in the first quarter of 2019’s fiscal year alone.
