On November 8th 2020, Jeopardy’s Alex Trebek passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80 years old.

In March of 2019, Alex Trebek announced to the world that he had stage four pancreatic cancer. Later that year, Trebek was called on to Good Morning America to talk about his diagnosis and treatment. The show asked him how he was living with this illness. Trebek said that “this is depressing.”

The treatment for this kind of cancer was chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs. After a few days of knowing of the illness when he started treatment, Trebek was going through chemo while he was still hosting the show.

Even though he had cancer, Trebek was still hosting the show that he has been hosting for the last thirty-seven seasons. These seasons had been going on since 1984 when he was first revealed as the host. He has been the host of the show since its debut in 1984.

George Alexander Trebek was born July 22, 1940 in Sudbury, Canada. He became a United States citizen in 1998 at the age of 58.

Trebek was a fan favorite with his unique game show and his friendly personality. To host a show like Jeopardy you have to be a very talented individual. Alex showed that he was a very intelligent person and a lovable guy.

He was awarded seven Outstanding Game Show Host Emmy Awards (1989, 1990, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2019, and 2020) and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also has a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Trebek and his family had a charity called Trebek Family Foundation. This charity is made to help give scholarships to students that can’t afford to go to school or college. He also had a charity to help kids in foster care, homeless children, and orphanages. His charity helps give the children hope and to find them a nice place to live.

Trebek was also a huge supporter of the Veterans and of the United States Military. Every year he would donate money to help the armed forces and to help veterans.

Alex Trebek was a favorite to many of the people that watched his show. He will be missed by all of the Jeopardy fans and to his family.
