Gloucester Track team gives strong performance at home meet

On April 20th, Gloucester High School hosted its second (and final) home track meet, and third meet of the season. The last home meet of the season was originally scheduled for Friday, but was cancelled due to inclement weather. It began at 9:30am and ended around 7:00.

Gloucester Track and Field took 1st place in a number of events. Senior Joshua Shackelford took 1st place in the Varsity Boys 800 meter run finals and the Varsity Boys 1600 meter run finals. Senior Aaron Shipe came in 3rd in the Varsity Boys 800 meter run finals. Sophomore Conner O’Beirne came in 2nd in the Varsity Boys 1600 meter final. Freshman Tanner Baker came in 1st place and Freshman Jaxson Ellison came in 2nd place in the JV Boys 1600 meter run finals. The boys relay team came in 1st in the boys 4x400 meter relay finals. Another Gloucester High relay team came in 2nd in the Varsity Boys 4x800.

Junior Ainsley Miller came in 1st for the Varsity Girls Pole Vault Finals. Gloucester came in 1st in the girls 4x800 Meter Relay Finals. Sophomore Nicole Pinder came in 3rd for the Varsity Girls 1600 Meter Run Finals.
