The girls match against menchville was originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th. Due to the weather the match was postponed to Wednesday the 15th.

The Lady Duke’s last game against Menchville was extremely close with a score of 4-5. Both the Lady Dukes and the Monarchs are coming back stronger and ready to win.

The order of girls singles in the regional match is as follows: Destiny Morales, Meadow Spears (replacing Hailey Brown with a sprained ankle), Maggie Dye, Skylar Tenan, Kenzie Sullivan, and Danica McFarland. For doubles, the girls play in the following pairs: Destiny and Kenzie, Maggie and Skylar, and Danica and Meadow.

During the last match against Menchville, Danica McFarland twisted her ankle, had her contact fold in her eye and still to take it home.

The Lady Dukes started the match with doubles. Maggie and Skylar’s match went into a tiebreaker, ultimately resulting in a loss. Danica and Meadow won their match and against the monarchs. However Destiny and Kenzie lost their doubles match.

After the doubles matches lasting nearly two and a half hours, the girls were exhausted. They took a ten minute break and then returned to singles. Most of the girls finished their first match before it was called off as menchville had won. Junior Maggie Dye and Danica McFarland had both won the first set of their match, however, because Morales and Sullivan lost their matches the team was eliminated.

The Lady Dukes played a good match and had a really good season. There were no seniors on the team this year, though next season’s seniors will include Destiny Morales. McKenzie Sullivan, Maggie Dye, Olivia Rich, Kaylee Walls, and Danica McFarland.
