Golfer Jeremy Carr

The Gloucester high school golf team has had a great season. This year the Dukes have maintained the place as number one team. One senior whos hard work and team spirit makes him stand out is Jeremy Carr.

Carr has been golfing since from an early age because of his father and fell in love. Since his Freshman year on the team Carr and coach Calloway have had a strong bond, helping Carr hone his technique in tournaments.

Last year the Dukes golf program lost many seniors, which for some teams can lead to a rocky season. However Carr defied these odds and overcame the obstacles that were put in front of him pushing not only himself but the team as a whole.

Carr is the top golfer here at GHS, he has won a total of five matches and kept an 80 average.

Despite the odds Carr along with the help of a strong team has held the number one position. Carr likes to say “If you ain’t first then you’re last” and on the golf course, there is no exception to that saying.

After graduation, Carr is hoping to be able to continue playing golf competitively at the apprentice school.
