GHS Boys Volleyball Secures An Eventful Game And Eventful Week

By Reporter

The Gloucester High School boys volleyball team had an extreme game this Wednesday, October 2nd against Woodside High School. The game was really heated between the two sides and it was definitely an intense game.

GHS started strong with their first set which began the flame of tension between the schools. Woodside did receive a yellow card on their player Tyler Makekau but sadly Woodside won the first set with an standing 28 - 26 however this did not fear GHS.

The Gloucester boys went even stronger in the second set, demolishing the opposing players, and as imagined GHS landed the win at 25 - 21.

The third set arrose in conflict. One of the Woodside coaches received a yellow card, but Woodside did pull through this set, leaving a score of 25 - 20, they did good.

The fourth set is where the game started to get a little intense, one of our Gloucester players Brandt Brophy, number six, was given a yellow card. At this point the wins are going back and fourth with Woodside And Gloucester, when GHS enclosed another intense win on this set. They won the set with a 25 - 22 score. Normally a volleyball game could only go up to five whole sets with the fifth having a maximum score of 15, Which then Gloucester pulled the game into one of these prolonged sets.

The Fifth Set was incredible, the game was as close as a volleyball game could even get and our Gloucester High School boys managed to pull through with a groundbreaking win of 16 - 14. This win is definitely memorable as it literally is the closest game we’ve had yet and that’s incredible on our part. In conclusion we demolished woodside greatfully. Now Woodside did do good, they held up strong, but they were not strong enough to surpass our amazing victory.
