On Tuesday May, 4th 2020, police found a local man stabbed in his home after a report was filed at 10:30 PM. Eli Joseph Hirschberg was found in his home on Stream Drive when police were notified of a stabbing late in the evening. Hirschberg was then taken directly to Walter Reed Riverside hospital. It was in the hospital that he later died. Hirschberg was 29 years old and a Gloucester resident.

The person charged with the death was 20 year old Bryce Hunter Edwards. He is also a Gloucester resident and a former student from Gloucester High school. Edwards was arrested and charged with second-degree murder the following morning. He is being kept in Gloucester county jail with no bond.

Not much information has been released to the public yet on either the victim or the killer yet, so the motive of the crime is unknown. It is further unclear if the two men had even known each other beforehand. All that is known is a young man lost his life and the one who took it is behind bars.
