On May 9, 2020 around 11 P.M, Virginia State Police were called in to investigate a 2016 Chevrolet Trak that got into a single-vehicle accident that happened on Tidemill Road. The accident in question had resulted in the fatality of 46 year old Daniel Mccallister Dix.

According to the State Police, Dix was travelling westbound on route 641, when he ran off the road and crashed into a utility pole. He was killed on impact, as he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The pole that Daniel crashed into was a Dominion Power pole and workers were notified to go to the scene and restore power. The Virginia Department of Transportation helped with directing traffic around the scene.

Speed was said to be a factor in the fatal crash, but it is unknown whether or not alcohol was a factor too.

The pole struck was owned by Dominion Power, who were seen the following day repairing damages done, with the assistance of VDOT in lane closures.

Police are still undergoing investigation at this time, and Dix's family was notified the following morning.
