Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber drops new single

On May 10, 2019, Ed Sheeran announced on his Instagram that Justin Bieber and himself had dropped a new song called “ I Don’t Care.” Sheeran also stated in his Instagram post that there is a link in his bio to the new song between him and Bieber. The song was produced by Max Martin, Shellback, and FRED. The song that Sheeran and Bieber released is about not fitting in but not caring when you’re with your “baby.”

Bieber dropped the news about the new song on Twitter in a nonchalant way that went perfectly with the new songs title.

The singers are paying tribute to the ladies of their lives, Bieber’s wife Hailey Baldwin and Sheeran’s wife Cherry Seaborn. Bieber and Sheeran are breaking records as “ I Don’t Care” surges to number one on singles charts worldwide. The new single is surging on many streaming services, even before the music video came out. So far, the only thing that has been released is the lyrics and audio versions on YouTube and a tease of the final product with the two singers standing before a green background before back-projections are added.

The song easily became number one on the U.K. Official Singles Charts updates, The single has 4.7 million streams just across the weekend. The single between the two artist has achieved more digital downloads than the rest of the top five combined at the midweek point, putting the single in a strong position to be the official number one song on Friday. The single is to be Sheeran’s sixth chart-topper in his native Britain, and the seventh for Bieber. The two have both already made top 10 appearances in Britain, with 77 top 40 hits in total. On the Billboard charts the song has a scoring period for the next charts in the U.S. which closes Thursday evening.

The new song by Sheeran and Beiber set a Spotify record for the most streams in one day, and the biggest debut day sum for most tracks, nearly 11 million hits worldwide for the new song. The lyric video for the song “ I Don’t Care” stands at nearly 27 million hits on Youtube, and the trailer for the music video has nearly 3 million views and the official audio has 6 million. Both Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber have collaborated before on “ Love Yourself” and “Cold Water.”

The two have also collaborated with many other artist. Sheeran has collaborated with Elton John, Rudimental, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Giggs, One Direction, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift. Bieber has collaborated with many artist such as Drake, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nicki Minaj, Jaden Smith, Usher, Skrillex and Diplo, J Balvin, Quavo, Chance the Rapper,Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Ludacris, and also Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. The song is lovely, and such a different style for Ed and Justin both since the two are now both married and happy with their wives and their lives the two have really grown up since their last song together in 2016 with the song “ Love Yourself.”
