Blackbear Drops New Album ‘Anonymous’

Matthew Musto, better known as Blackbear, has come a long way in his career since emerging in 2011, and showcases it on his 5th studio album ‘ANONYMOUS.’

Musto is best known for his songs “Do Re Mi,” “IDFC,” and more. A few songs on his newest release have the same appeal to these songs.

He’s worked with many artists, like Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, and G-Eazy and has taken inspiration from their music and been able to fuse it into his own.

‘ANONYMOUS’ was scheduled to come out on Valentine's Day, but Musto wanted to wait to make sure it was all perfect before releasing it to his fans. “ANONYMOUS may be pushed because I signed to a label and it has to be perfect,” Musto wrote on an Instagram post.

He has an extra amount of confidence with this project and all of his fans had very high expectations. “It's my best work to date, so do not sleep on this album.” He said during an interview with Inked magazine.

This album contains alternative songs, love songs, but mostly heartbreaks.

His album consists of 2 songs that were released prior to the album to support it, and put N Y L A on it, a song that was released in 2013 but was never put on an album.

The album of course has 13 new songs titled, PINK ROLEX, ITS ALL GONNA BURN, SWEAR TO GOD, HATE MY GUTS, DRUG DEALER, MAKE A MESS, SICK OF IT ALL, CHANGED, HIGH1X, DOWN, BURNT AF, HEARTBROKEN, LOSING YOU, and TOO CLOSE.

His most popular song from this release is 1 SIDED LOVE, which was released on Valentine’s Day.

‘ANONYMOUS’ hit number 1 on the top 100 R&B/Hip Hop album charts and it hasn’t even been released for a full week.

Musto has been feeling major love and support since releasing ‘ANONYMOUS.’ He has blown up this past year, and how well this album did shows just how much everyone loves him and his music.

Blackbear enthusiast, Sophomore, Kurt Carter’s favorite song from ‘ANONYMOUS’ is ‘HEARTBROKEN.’ He says that the new album helped him get over past relationships but all around makes him happy. He’s been supporting Blackbear since he first started and has supported him through every album he puts out.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Musto wrote about the album before it came out around the time of his three-year-sobriety, “im grateful this album is called ANONYMOUS cause it means im learning to live with less EGO.” He wrote in his Instagram caption. “Ego stands for EXIT GOD OUT when i myself will i only care about me NOT YOU and today that story is different.”

The albums supporting tour will kick off on May 17th in Seattle and it will go through cities like Anaheim, New Orleans, Atlanta, and will be a world tour, going into Europe. However, he will not be coming to Virginia.
