Daniel Hernandez, better known as Tekashi 6ix9ine has been housed at a private facility serving time after pleading guilty to charges including racketeering, firearm offenses, and drug trafficking.

He was released due to coronavirus concerns, worried he would contract it due to having chronic asthma. He will serve the last four months of his two year sentence on house arrest. Citing safety concerns, he declined revealing where he will be staying for the rest of his sentence.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is extraordinary and unprecedented in modern times in this nation. It presents a clear and present danger to free society for reasons that need no elaboration. COVID-19 presents a heightened risk for incarcerated defendants like Mr. Hernandez with respiratory ailments such as asthma.” Lazzaro, his defense attorney, told -----.

The rapper showed no symptoms of COVID-19, according to his lawyer. “At some point, I’m guessing, yes, he’ll be tested. When it becomes readily available” Lazzaro said.

Many people are out to get Hernandez due to him snitching on members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a gang founded by prisoners in Rikers Island. His testimony helped convict two members of the gang.

Since being released, Hernandez dropped a single, GOOBA. GOOBA broke Youtube’s record of the most-watched hip-hop video in a 24 hour time span. As of Friday, May 15th, GOOBA has reached 160 million views, being released 7 days prior.

Hernandez also broke an Instagram Live record on May 8th, with there being more than two million views at the live’s peak. On the live he talked about being called a “rat.” Which many other rappers posted after his release calling him a rat such as Meek Mill and Snoop Dogg.

“Y'all really didn’t have a reason to dislike me. But now, yall got a reason, so the go-to is, ‘He snitched.’ My fans, my family don’t deserve that, and I’m sorry. Listen, I snitched and I ratted but who was I supposed to be loyal to?”

He then goes into depth as to why he snitched on his former gang members.

“But where was the loyalty when you were sleeping with my baby mother?” He says, “Where was the loyalty when you were caught on the wiretap trying to kill me? Where was the loyalty when you tried to kidnap my mother? Where was the loyalty when you stole millions of dollars from me, so who broke it first?”

He has new beef with rapper Meek Mill and confronted him on the live. “For a rat to come home and do more numbers than you, I would be mad too. If a rat came home the way I came home and did more numbers than me, I would be mad.”

In a tweet Meek Mill writes, “I got way more money too don’t even bring that up.”

After Hernandez’s sentence is up, he still has another five years of “supervised release” meaning he has to follow the law to stay out of jail.
