Academies
Academies are training programs for future officers. They are specific to each branch typically offer the equivalent education as a 4-year university as corresponding degrees in limited fields relevant to the branch. The application process and requirements are specific to each academy. Academies often offer info sessions and have separate admission contacts if you have questions.

What is the ASVAB?
The test measures your knowledge in eight areas:
General Science - Life, earth, space and physical sciences
Arithmetic Reasoning - Ability to solve basic math and word problems
Word Knowledge - Ability to grasp the meaning of words through synonyms
Paragraph Comprehension - Ability to understand written material
Mathematics - Math concepts and applications
Electronics - Electrical current, circuits, devices and electronic systems
Auto and Shop - Car maintenance and repair, and wood and metal shop
Mechanical - Principles of mechanical devices, structural support, properties of materials
The ASVAB is timed and takes about 3½ hours to complete. It’s a good idea to practice in advance, to get familiar with the process and to find any areas you might need to improve before you take the real exam.

The United States Marine Corps, the Semper Fidelis All-American Program recognizes high school students who face life’s battles with the conviction and determination to succeed.

The CAP Cadet Program is a year-round program where Cadets fly, learn to lead, hike, camp, get in shape, and push themselves to new limits. If you’re dreaming about a career in aviation, space, or the military, CAP’s Cadet Program is for you.
To become a cadet, you must be be at least 12 years old and not yet 19 years old. Cadets usually meet 2 hours per week and one Saturday per month, on average, and also have opportunities to attend leadership encampments, career academies, and other activities during the summer.
