Dual Enrollment

Are you planning to take classes while in high school at the SRJC? This page provides information on this process.

What is Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment Presentation AVID 10

From the SRJC Website:Santa Rosa Junior College’s High School Dual Enrollment program is designed to provide current high school students, who are enrolled in the 9th grade or above, the opportunity to get an early start on their college experience. This program provides enrichment opportunities for high school students who can benefit from college level instruction.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ENROLL FOR FREE. The class registration fee is waived for high school students enrolled in 11 units or fewer.  Some courses may require payment of a material fee (see course description in class schedule).  High school students are still required to pay the Student Health Services Fee, student center fee, transportation fee, course fees, and purchase their own textbooks as recommended or required for their college courses. Some courses require placement or pre-requisite grades from the high school (see more here: https://assessment.santarosa.edu/high-school-students).

Dual Enrollment Steps

Are you a 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grader that would like to take an SRJC class this year?

Step #1 Complete the SRJC application for the semester of desired attendance. For SUMMER OR FALL classes, choose "SUMMER/FALL 2024"

Step #2 Contact your counselor to discuss your plan and request your dual enrollment pre-approval.

For SUMMER OR FALL 2024, submit your dual enrollment request to your counselor by APRIL 30TH (to register during Priority 6).  SENIORS DO NOT REQUIRE DUAL ENROLLMENT FORMS AND SHOULD HAVE PRIORITY 3 OR HIGHER ASSIGNED FOR THE YEAR AFTER GRADUATION.

Step #3 Submit the electronic dual enrollment form to the SRJC. This pre-approves to register.

Step #4 Find the class section number (time/date) you want to take in the schedule Check this as registration gets closer to make sure there is still room in the class you want. If your class fills, you may need to choose an alternate section and/or course. Make sure to check in with your counselor if you need to get a new course approved.

Step #5 Register for your approved class(es). *

See priority registration schedules to find earliest registration dates for each upcoming semester. High school students register under Priority 6. Graduating seniors will be assigned a priority based on enrollment factors (orientation completion, DRD or athletic status, participation in programs such as EOPS, Puente, etc.)

*IMPORTANT: English classes require guided self-placement before registration for current high school students. See more info here: https://assessment.santarosa.edu/math-english-guided-self-placement

Math classes require updating of grades. See more info here:
