The purpose of the DEV1 Handlebar Display and Lighting System (HDL) is to provide the rider with visual feedback about error warnings and battery status. The system will also allow the rider to manually control the lighting on the bike in order to fit their surroundings/situation.
HUDL 1.1 will be a streamlined version of the original HUDL 1.0.
This is a document that captures an overview of each subsystem, use case, and relevant components. Similar to a User Guide, this document explains how to use a feature of a project. For example, it will explain the necessary hardware connections and how to communicate over CAN to the BMS. There may be several Function Descriptions (one for each revision).
This is a spreadsheet of each test that confirms that the project satisfies each engineering requirement.
Firmware issue - an output was assigned to the wrong UART pins on the STM (microcontroller).
Record of changes from each revision:
Revision 1:
Added connectors for external LEDs and debugging
Standardized components to EVT standard
Changed fuse from connector version to surface mount
Gave screen 3.0V instead of 3.3V
Added nopop resistor for LCD heater input
Added several bypass capacitors near power to ICs
Changed LED resistors based on datasheet current recommendations
Revision 2:
Single 12V input instead of 12V and 5V
One digital potentiometer instead of two
