George Halford Clark started working in his father's barrel stave business, which, overtime, grew to include the likes of the oil, gas, and paint industry. After accruing a good sum of wealth from this, he became a director for many Rochester-Area businesses, from the Genesee Valley Trust Company to the Rochester Dental Dispensary. Most notably, however, he was one of the 14 original stockholders in the Eastman Kodak Company, and a board member for the Rochester Institute of Technology.
