While James Booth did not directly pay for the building, it was a formal request in the will of his son, Irving Booth. James was the president of the Monroe Savings Bank, an a member of the Board of Trustee's for RIT back in the 1890s. His son Irving was one of the largest benefactors during the mid-20th century.Â
