STANDARD MATH

In math this week, students will use ratios to convert measurements within and across measurement systems and calculate percent out of 100.

ACCELERATED MATH

In accelerated math this week, students will multiply and divide rational numbers.

LANGUAGE ARTS

In language arts this week, students will analyze personification and imagery.

SCIENCE

In science this week, students will explain how fossils show evidence of the changing surface and climate of Earth.

SOCIAL STUDIES

In social studies this week, students will compare and contrast the forms of government in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Russia.

Ms. Bell's Briefings

The fieldtrip to JA Biztown is this week. What do they do there? The Junior Achievement experience is so much fun! Students visit Biztown in 6th grade and Finance Park in 8th grade. At Biztown, students are assigned a job in businesses such as a bank, hospital, cell phone store, government agency, restaurants, and retail stores. Students begin working, making financial decisions for their company based on their positions, and earn a paycheck. When it is their time off, they can use their money to shop. Students love being able to "buy" cool items like sunglasses and headphones while learning how to manage financial decisions.
