Can students dress up on Halloween?
We will have a Book Character Dress-Up Day on Thursday, October 31st for $1 to benefit PBIS. Students should adhere to the following costume guidelines.
Students should be prepared to name the book and author of the character.
Costumes must be school-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.
Costumes should not include masks or make up that prevents staff from identifying the student. For example, full head coverage masks or full face coverage paint.
Costumes may not contain props or accessories that resemble or could be mistaken for an actual weapon.
Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another student.
Layered costumes, or costume props that surround the entire body are prohibited. For example, blow up costumes or costumes that obstruct learning or regular learning activities are not permitted. (If you take PE or play an instrument, you must be able to do these same activities with the costume or be able to easily adjust for the day to continue normal learning activities.)
Costumes may not reach or drag the ground. (For example, full-length Princess dresses).
Capes may be worn IF the length does not go below the waist.
Toy swords, and plastic lightsabers are not allowed.
