Look at Covey's class, ready to break off for Math Workshop. Love the timer, the clear directions, and of course...
...already showing evidence of a TTESS goal action step. BEST WORK!!!
What Is Expected of Me This Week
We will not have extended PLCs this week. We will continue with 5th, 3rd and 1st on Tuesday, November 12th. We will check in on WIN time and track progress on each team's SMART goals. Please make sure you have your data and agendas are ready to go, and you have added your students of concern to the Kid Talk form. Formal MTSS meetings have started.
As always, update your Reading Tracker before your PLC day. Remember our goal is for students to make at least a years growth in reading. Progress monitoring is a must do. Linked are the running records forms we are using this year: Fiction & Non-Fiction. Hard copies are in the Literacy Library.
Sub Binders Revamp: Be a friend to your teammates! See the box below for details.
Denton ISDs Communication Tree: Please read the two flyers below regarding how to address issues/concerns. We will be posting these posters in our lobby for families to see as well.
IMPORTANT VISITOR: On November 4th, our area superintendent, Dr. Russell, will be on campus for our quarterly check in. Visiting classrooms is a top priority for this visit. Other district dignitaries may be present as well. Everyone will have a copy of our master schedule and will expect to see the stated components as they tour. They will be looking for evidence of Savannah's four big priorities which are posted in the picture below.
Dr. O'Bara, our district superintendent, may also come this week (or next) to visit our school. Please stick to the master schedule (unless you have been personally contacted by Hawkins to be a model classroom for the principal visits on Wednesday and Thursday.)
Principal/AP campus tours: On Wednesday and Thursday mornings of this week you may see groups of principals walking the halls of our campus. These are leadership walkthroughs and meant to create discussion among school leaders for next steps.
Math WIN continues this week! Make the most of this time so that we can celebrate progress on Nov. 14th.
DATA SHOWCASE November 14th: Let's work hard and show off our progress on Data Showcase day November 14th. Here is the new presentation link. Great job to the teams who have already entered their reading WIN time reflections.
Read-A-Thon: Read-A-Thon continues this week! Update your class daily on their progress and remember that your excitement and communication has HUGE impact on this fundraiser's success! Don't forget that classroom teachers will get to spend 10% of the total their class raises on materials for your classroom!

Here are some reminders about procedures for getting new IDs for staff or students.
New Students - If you have a new student who needs an ID, please email Holt with the student's name and ID number along with a headshot-type photo. (If you do not want to take/send a photo, you may send the student to the Library during Open Checkout to request a photo be taken for their ID. Open Checkout is Mon, Wed, Thu, and Fri from 2:25-2:50, not Tuesdays.)
Current Students - If you have a current student who requires a replacement ID, there is a $5 charge. The $5 fee must be paid in cash to the office. The office will then email Holt to print the ID after receiving payment. Payment DOES NOT come to the Library.
Staff IDs - If staff needs a new ID, please just email Holt. Your latest Lifetouch photo in the system will be used. If you do not want that photo, please send the one you would like utilized.
The information in this corner will help us understand ourselves better so that we can make progress on our new culture goal: "at work, i have the opportunity to do what i do best every day. "
This week's focus for "doing what we do best EVERY DAY" focuses on your enneagram number.
Think about your enneagram number. Read the descriptions below for how each enneagram number can stress less. How would this action step help you do your best work?
Note: This will be our PLT task for the next two weeks so that each team has the chance to share out during extended PLTs.
Don't forget!
Every Thursday is Braswell Spirit Day. You may wear jeans and Braswell spiritwear/colors.
