Wonderful staff!
The progress you made on rooms this week is exceptional! I am so excited for our students to see thier new homes for this year.
What Is Expected of Me This Week?
WE ARE SENDING WELCOME EMAILS TO YOUR FAMILIES FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING. It is imperative that everyone is at work on time, ready to send the emails. Make sure your Welcome Slides are ready to go. We are making some minor changes to class lists in TAC before 8:00 tomorrow morning. We will make an announcement between 8:15-8:45 letting you know to send your email to your students listed in TAC. BE READY. It is unsettling to families if they don't hear from each of their children's teachers.
WE ARE PLANNING FOR THE FIRST THREE WEEKS ON MONDAY MORNING, AUGUST 5th:
Plan to be in the library by 9:00 AM to begin. Your team will have the ability to peel off once your team has consulted with Hawkins, Agnew, and Boor.
PLANNING TIGHTS FOR 24-25:
We are using district resources this year. This is not up for debate. It is a directive from our new superintendent. This means ELAR will use Units of Study and math will use resources in the UBD. If we adhere to these resources and the scope and sequence given by the district, planning for Tier one should not take long. This will free up time for us to plan for workshop and WIN time small groups during the first three weeks of school.
We will plan backwards using the report card assessment/rubrics to guide our planning. (Boor and Agnew have the report card assessments printed for you for tomorrow.)
We will plan as a team (not in isolation.) This means that self-contained will plan all subjects together and departmentalized will plan their subjects together.
We will plan for Science and Social Studies.
A note on SMART Goals: We will set our SMART goals soon this year (during our first PLCs.) We will set two SMART goals for Math and two for ELAR. One goal will reflect our WIN Time goal for each subject's intervention cycle (this will be a foundational goal meant to catch kids up who are behind.) The second goal will be centered on ON LEVEL/END OF YEAR expectations. We will be tracking these goals as a PLT in our progress monitoring documents. We will be showing off our progress as a staff midway through each nine weeks at our Data Showcase Celebration. Our first data showcase will be September 12th. Keep this in mind as you plan your first three weeks. We need to hit the ground running.
Our first WIN time cycle will focus on math. We plan to begin WIN time on or before August 19th and continue the cycle until our first Data Showcase Day on September 12th.
Everyone will attend the applicable curriculum and instruction professional development sessions listed in our Year at a Glance.
Data Binders will go home on half days. Team leads, make sure your new team members understand the expectation. There is a strong sample in our Teacher's Toolbox. Our first half-day is August 30th.

Still Important from Last Week...
Finalize any tasks from your PLT task list. This must be done before school starts.
The information in this corner will help us understand ourselves better so that we can make progress on our new culture goal: "at work, i have the opportunity to do what i do best every day. "
This week's focus for "doing what we do best EVERY DAY" comes from the Gallup Strengths Finder. Look at your top five strengths. Which domain are you strongest in? How do you see this play out as you work with your team?
Don't forget!
Every Thursday is Braswell Spirit Day. You may wear jeans and Braswell spiritwear/colors.
Every Friday is Savannah Spirit Day. You may wear jeans and Savannah spiritwear/colors.
