Wonderful staff!
Thank you for enduring the Week of the Supermoon and still smiling on Friday afternoon. You are true champions. It is an honor to work with you. Read below for info on the upcoming week.
What Is Expected of Me This Week
Our Extended PLCs are this week for 5th, 3rd, and 1st. We will check in on WIN time and making sure each team has a SMART goal for reading WIN time progress. Please make sure you have your data and agendas ready to go.
Update your Reading & Math Tracker before your PLC day. i--Ready assessments should be entered as well as F & P and PNA data. Team Leads check in with your teams. This task should have been completed two weeks ago for i-Ready and on Friday for F & P. Small groups should start on Monday.
Remember to link your weekly plans or pacing guide to your teams agenda. Team agendas should be filled in for Math & Reading planning as well as PLC days. Team Leads make sure your plans are viewable to SPED, interventionists and admin.
New PD Plan for 24-25: Feeling tired? Too many meetings? You've been heard. The Savannah Super Support Squad determined that attendance at the Braswell Zone PD sessions offered by Curriculum and Instruction count for A LOT of learning and time. In return for your attendance at these sessions, we are cancelling the Savannah based PD days indefinitely.
Gen Ed Teachers--No experience with IEP meetings? No problem! See our graphic below to help you know what to bring and say when you attend for a student.
Are you hosting a club for Savannah this year? If yes, fill out this form. We will put this list in our Savannah Shoutout so that parents know what clubs are available for their kids.
New color printing procedure: If you need something printed in color please email it to Eston. The turnaround time is very quick (usually minutes) however we are trying to make sure all color print jobs are intentional and purposeful. This will help us conserve our expensive color ink.

Still Important from Last Week...
Guiding Coalition chose a new date, Sept. 26, for curriculum night. Please make sure your team is prepared to present on what you will be teaching this year. Parents should leave with a brief understanding of grade level learning objectives.
With Curriculum Night coming up, we need to display student work in our classrooms and hallways by Sept 20th. Please remember that every student should have work in the hallway. Student work should be their independent work and all work should not look exactly the same. TEKS and rubric should be posted but do not post student scores. Instead of student names on the work, put the student's class # and mark through name if it can't be erased. See strong examples below.
Lesson plans should be uploaded by Thursday of each week for the following week.
We are continuing Workshop Walk-Throughs this week.
Reach out to your team or mentors if there is anything on the form you don't understand. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things happening in classrooms!
Greetings from the Gator Community Committee! We have exciting plans for this year and need your support.
We kindly ask each salary teacher to contribute $20 and each paraprofessional to contribute $10 as part of the Sunshine Dues by Friday, October 11th. If you're able to contribute earlier, that would be wonderful! You can give me (Hart) cash or Venmo me at @JenniH12. If using Venmo, please include "Gator Community/Sunshine" along with your grade level/position in the comments. As a thank you, each teacher who contributes will receive a workout wear pass!
Here are some activities we’re planning this year, contingent on our fundraising:
-Monthly cupcakes to celebrate birthdays
-Snack cart
-Gift cards for extended hospital stays
-Supplies for the Christmas party
We will also share a budget spreadsheet periodically so you can see how funds are being allocated.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Hart!
As part of the process to develop the 2025-26 Denton ISD instructional school year calendar, we created a ThoughtExchange to gather feedback on our employees' top priorities. The feedback collected helps prioritize what matters most to our organization in the calendar development process. The ThoughtExchange will be available through the end of the day on Friday, September 27th.

Sign students up to share on the Announcements here!
Students interested in sharing information about Hispanic Heritage Month on the Announcements can be signed up below. Please let the student know that they should come to room 302. They MUST arrive by 7:35 am to be on air.
Please list the student's topic. This can be a famous Hispanic American, cultural tradition, or Spanish word or phrase they would like to share. Students should have some notes regarding what they would like to say.
Please reach out to student's parents and ask if it is okay to share their student's segment on Facebook. These will be shared at the end of the week. Email Holt if you have any questions.
The information in this corner will help us understand ourselves better so that we can make progress on our new culture goal: "at work, i have the opportunity to do what i do best every day. "
This week's focus for "doing what we do best EVERY DAY" focuses on your TEAMMATES.
Think of a teammate whose work you especially appreciate. Use your team agenda to view this teammate's strengths. Which of their strengths are they using the most to contribute to your team's work? We will do a "quick share" with our colleagues during your next PLT.
Note: This will be our PLT task for the next two weeks so that each team has the chance to share out during extended PLTs.
Don't forget!
Every Thursday is Braswell Spirit Day. You may wear jeans and Braswell spiritwear/colors.
Every Friday is Savannah Spirit Day. You may wear jeans and Savannah spiritwear/colors.
