What Is Expected of Me This Week

• PLTs:  1st, 3rd, and 5th on Tuesday. No extended PLC this week.  Since the PLC room is being used for Interim, plan on meeting in a team leader's room.  Make sure your agendas are updated! 

• ELAR Interim Testing on Tuesday and Wednesday.  See the specials schedule change on Savannah's Master Schedule or see below.  Please note that there is one schedule for 3rd grade (Tuesday) and a different schedule for 4th/5th grade (Wednesday). If you have a schedule change, please make sure your team is following the same schedule.

• Science Interim on Friday.  No change to the specials schedule.  

• Data Showcase is coming on February 13th. Here is the new Slideshow.

• Book study is this week. Everyone will meet in the library.

• Celebrate Savannah will be in person for 3rd-5th grade on Friday and online for PK-2nd.

Still Important:

• Intent Form 2025-26 School Year -- It is planning season again! Please fill out this form as soon as possible to inform Hawkins and Norris of your plans for next year. Please fill out this form even if you plan to stay in your current spot. 

• Valentine's Day is on a half day this year.  You are welcome to do a short simple "party" with your class (pass out Valentine's, small treat). We will not do big parties with parent volunteers and lots of food. 

Interim Day Schedules

ELAR STAAR TEST PREP INFO for 3rd-5th Grade

Good morning! It is about time to begin to look at test prep. We are working on updating the Language Arts Test Prep Unit in both English and Spanish and putting the student passages into Edugence. This will provide students with additional practice with the online testing format. The adjustments have been made based on the last two years of STAAR testing and reflect highly tested TEKS. You will still have access to the previous units and resources to choose from based on your students' needs. 

The unit and video instructions will be sent out and added to the BEVs on Feb. 10th. We will have virtual office hours on Feb. 12th from 3:30-4:15 to answer any questions you might have. Please register in Edugence for the Zoom link. (Link to register.) I know you are going to love the updates!

Also, a revision standard mastery is coming up in February.  This assessment should help you choose which Grammar Extensions are needed for your whole class and which to do in small groups. You can access the 5–7-minute Grammar Extension Lessons on the Bird's Eye View along with slides that go with them.  There are 30 lessons along with slides.  You could start these lessons before test prep.
