Wonderful staff!
Thank you again for a wonderful first week. Everything has been running smoothly, it seems like we didn't miss a beat over the summer. You all are absolutely amazing and I am so glad that you are on this team!
What Is Expected of Me This Week
Our Extended PLCs are this week for 4th, Kinder, and 2nd. These will be in our NEW and AMAZING PLC room. We will begin by setting our first round of SMART Goals. Please make sure you have your agendas ready to go.
Wondering about Edugence (the replacement for Eduphoria)? This is the asynchronous training to guide you through the basics. Use this link to enroll - bit.ly/DISDedugence-learn
We are beginning our Environmental Walk-Throughs this week. Here is the feedback form to guide you on our look-fors. Reach out to your team or mentors if there is anything on the form you don't understand. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things happening in classrooms!
Make sure you read the Savannah Shoutout that goes out each Wednesday. There is important info for parents that you need to know. Some highlights:
We are happy to celebrate your child's birthday at school. We allow parents to send birthday trinkets for their child's class if they want, however, WE DO NOT ALLOW BIRTHDAY TREATS or FOODS. Cupcakes/cake/candy etc. compete with healthy meals and snacks and may affect students with food allergies. We will not serve them. If parents ask about birthday treats, please do NOT give them permission to bring them.

Setting SMART Goals FOR 24-25:
Reminder: We will set two SMART goals for Math and two for ELAR. One goal will reflect our WIN Time goal for each subject's intervention cycle (this will be a foundational goal meant to catch kids up who are behind.) The second goal will be centered on ON LEVEL/END OF YEAR expectations. We will be tracking these goals as a PLT in our progress monitoring documents. We will be showing off our progress as a staff midway through each nine weeks at our Data Showcase Celebration. Our first data showcase will be September 12th.
Our first WIN time cycle will focus on math. We will set SMART goals for this cycle during our Math Data Dig day on August 14th for 1st-5th. Kinder will create their WIN time SMART goals based on kinder expectations for PNA. We plan to begin WIN time on or before August 19th and continue the cycle until our first Data Showcase Celebration.
The information in this corner will help us understand ourselves better so that we can make progress on our new culture goal: "at work, i have the opportunity to do what i do best every day. "
This week's focus for "doing what we do best EVERY DAY" comes from the Gallup: Did you know that people who know and use their strengths are six times as likely as other people to be engaged and to say they do what they do best every day. They are also three times as likely to say they have an excellent quality of life!!! What is your top strength? Use the link below to read about YOUR top strength. We will do a "quick share" with our colleagues during our first extended PLT.
***Note: We are leaving this link in Gator News for one more week since not every team got to share last week during PLC.***
