What Is Expected of Me This Week

• Intent Form 2025-26 School Year -- It is planning season again! Please fill out this form as soon as possible to inform Hawkins and Norris of your plans for next year. TASK DEADLINE: January 20th.

• We will crown our 24-25 TOY at the beginning of our staff meeting on Thursday (before splitting into committees). Be ready to celebrate!

• PNA window is open until January 31st.  Our goal is to have all PNAs completed by Friday, January 24th.  Reach out to Boor if you need assistance.  

• PLTs: 1st, 3rd, and 5th on Tuesday, January 21st. Make sure your agendas are updated! 

• 2nd Grade Math at Paloma Creek TUESDAY, January 21st 3:45-4:30 REGISTER HERE

• Update iReady and F and P on our data wall (if you haven't already.)

• The state has finally released 2024 STAAR data (however NOT school ratings due to ongoing lawsuits). If any parents ask you questions about Savannah's STAAR Data, feel free to direct them to Hawkins.

• Data Showcase is coming on February 13th. Here is the new Slideshow.

• Committees are meeting this week. Please look at your committee's previous agenda for pending and upcoming tasks.

• The Q3 Curriculum Newsletter has lots of helpful information regarding iReady, HMH (Science Curriculum), and dates for upcoming progress monitoring assessments.

ELAR STAAR TEST PREP INFO for 3rd-5th Grade

Good morning! It is about time to begin to look at test prep. We are working on updating the Language Arts Test Prep Unit in both English and Spanish and putting the student passages into Edugence. This will provide students with additional practice with the online testing format. The adjustments have been made based on the last two years of STAAR testing and reflect highly tested TEKS. You will still have access to the previous units and resources to choose from based on your students' needs. 

The unit and video instructions will be sent out and added to the BEVs on Feb. 10th. We will have virtual office hours on Feb. 12th from 3:30-4:15 to answer any questions you might have. Please register in Edugence for the Zoom link. (Link to register.) I know you are going to love the updates!

Also, a revision standard mastery is coming up in February.  This assessment should help you choose which Grammar Extensions are needed for your whole class and which to do in small groups. You can access the 5–7-minute Grammar Extension Lessons on the Bird's Eye View along with slides that go with them.  There are 30 lessons along with slides.  You could start these lessons before test prep.
