Welcome to Fulham Cross Girls' School! We are delighted that you will be joining our Trust and we cannot wait to start developing our relationship with you to ensure that you feel supported in obtaining the best possible education to maximise your success in a personable environment. We understand how important this time is in a young person’s life and we want to reassure you that we will do everything we can to smooth the transition into secondary school.
You will hear from us frequently throughout the process and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or queries. You will see updates on our website and we will also email through to you important information and key dates.
HOW DO WE ACCEPT OUR PLACE AND WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO DO SO?
You need to accept your place at the school by Friday 15th March. You can accept your place at Fulham Cross Girls’ School via the Local Authority Portal as outlined in your offer letter.
Please do this as soon as possible to support the transition process. We will telephone you in the week beginning the 4th of March to support this process. Further students will be added to our waiting list on Monday 18th March 2024.
CAN I TOUR THE SCHOOL AGAIN OR SPEAK TO A MEMBER OF FCAT STAFF?
Fulham Cross Girls’ School are offering tours every Tuesday morning from 9:00 am to 10:20 am. If you wish to book a space please email our year 7 transition email box at fcgs-transition@fulhamcross.net
WHEN WILL THE YEAR 6 TRANSITION INTERVIEWS TAKE PLACE?
These interviews will be held on Tuesday 25th June and Wednesday 26th June from 3:00 pm -5:30 pm. You will receive communication about this nearer the time. If you cannot attend any of these times, please let us know once you have received your invitation letter at fcgs-transition@fulhamcross.net
WILL THERE BE ANY ADDITIONAL TRANSITION EVENTS AVAILABLE FOR MY CHILD/WARD?
Yes, there are a range of events that will happen in the Summer Term and they are:
Induction Day:
Induction Day will be on 3rd July 2024, this will be an opportunity for your child/ward to visit Fulham Cross Girls’ School and experience a full day of Secondary school. They will meet their new classmates and teachers and there will be an opportunity for them to ask all the important questions.
Transition Primary School visits
In addition to induction day, our transition mentor; Ms Aya, will also be visiting some of your children at your child/ward’s primary schools to get to know your child/ward and start building those important relationships.
Summer School
We will also be running summer school for 3 days from Wednesday 28th - Friday 30th August. The timings for this are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and lunch will be provided.
Summer school is a brilliant opportunity to get a head start on this important transition process. At Fulham Cross Girls’ School, we understand that going to a new school can be a scary experience or as we say ‘nervi-citing’ so we want to offer as many opportunities as possible for your child/ward to settle in seamlessly. The sessions offered will cover:
Team building activities
STEM activities
Languages activities
Poetry activities
Plus many more!!
