Fulham Cross Girls’ School encapsulates the very best in education for young women.
A strong inclusive ethos means that all students, regardless of race, ability, income, or faith are welcomed to our school. We celebrate the fact that our students speak 47 languages and bring a wealth of different cultures and values to our school community.
The results that we consistently achieve are life changing.
We recognise that our students’ best route into a successful, rich and interesting future is through education. Our staff are relentless in the pursuit of these goals, resulting in an exceptionally high progress score and outstanding GCSE results. Yet we are as far from an exam results factory as it is possible to be. Students enjoy their learning very much, and several commented that they ‘love this school’. A student in Year 9 wrote in her questionnaire: ‘Ours is a multicultural school. Our school accepts everyone… from any religion and culture’. ‘Students work harmoniously together in lessons. Relationships between staff and students are extremely positive. The atmosphere in lessons is calm, supportive and reflective.’ Our students clearly think highly of the school environment, and we are excited to welcome your children into our community.
We have 4 Key Values at Fulham Cross Girls' School and these underpin the way we approach everything from Teaching and Learning to Extracurricular Activities as well as how we treat one another and those beyond the school gates. These are:
Excellence - in everything we do, we strive to achieve excellence. Whether this is improving in a Science Topic, or participating in a particularly well argued debate. Fulham Cross Girls' School students are encouraged to give their all and aim for the best possible outcomes.
Integrity - we often talk about the importance of being able to look at yourself in the mirror and know that you have done the right thing, even when no one is watching. We want all of our girls to act with integrity so they can be proud of their character, their actions and themselves.
Courage - we know that taking on new challenges can be daunting and that acting with integrity can sometimes require strength of character. However, having the courage to step out of our comfort zones means that we are able to grow and develop confidence. In doing so, we learn that we are capable of truly great things!
Community - we take care of others in our community. We are respectful and welcoming of our differences, recognising that we have more in common with each other than what differentiates us. The girls play an active part in the school community and also our wider local community and beyond. Having strong connections and contributing positively supports overall wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
Our exam results are enough to make us an exceptional school, but there is so much more to FCGS than a set of astonishing results. FCGS is a school with a unique environment, where everyone is valued equally and where girls are able to flourish in a supportive environment.
